Mr. Warren graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1982, where he ran track and majored in English and History. In 1987, Mr. Warren graduated from the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama, and received a Master’s Degree in International Transactions from George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia in 1992.
In his career as a trial lawyer, Mr. Warren has tried over a hundred three day or greater jury trials in matters varying from medical malpractice, employment, premises liability, personal injury, construction, corporate fraud, and contract disputes in all courts of record in Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Maryland and has argued numerous matters before the Supreme Court of Virginia and the Maryland Court of Appeals. Further, he is a Life Member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum®, whose membership is restricted to attorneys who have won million dollar verdicts and settlements.
As an ADR provider, Mr. Warren has participated in excess of a thousand mediation and arbitration proceedings, has been certified by the Supreme Court of Virginia and District of Columbia at all levels, and has authored numerous books and articles on ADR. From 2001–2009, Mr. Warren served as the Director of the Certificate Program Conflict Management at Old Dominion University. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Mediation Network from 2003–2010, where he served as Treasurer (2004) and President (2008). Mr. Warren has also served as a Commissioner in Chancery for the Circuit Court for the City of Portsmouth since 2000, and additionally served as Mediation Coordinator for the Circuit Court for City of Portsmouth from 2002–2008.
